Obama tax cut 'refunds' those who don't pay

Washington Times - Obama tax cut 'refunds' those who don't pay: "Barack Obama says he will give 95 percent of all American workers a tax cut but does not mention that his plan would send checks to tens of millions of tax filers who pay no personal income taxes - payments that critics say look 'suspiciously like welfare.'"

Very funny listener email

I got a ticket but….

The other day I went downtown to run a few errands. I went into the local Coffee shop for a snack.I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was this Cop writing out a parking ticket.I said to him, 'Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break'?He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. His insensitivity annoyed Me, so I called him a 'Nazi.'He glared at me and then wrote out another ticket for having worn tires. So I proceeded to call him a 'doughnut eating Gestapo.' He finished the Second ticket and put I t on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket when I called him a moron in blue. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I talked back to him the more Tickets he wrote.Personally, I didn't really care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car That he was putting the tickets on had one of those bumper stickers that Said, 'Obama '08.'I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. The doctor tells me that it's important to my health.

Listener email regarding English as on official language

"Of course the English language should be first and foremost. Everyone comes to America to improve their lives, so to get the taste of milk and honey, ask for it in English. I don't believe that a can of corn is large enough to accommodate all the languages of every nationality living in the United States. So, I believe that if we start that mess, more mess is coming. The Constitution was written in English. Are we going to have to have it re-written in Spanish? Learn the language or stay in ? country until you learn it . This Nation is an English speaking Nation and always has been. It is wonderful to be bi-lingual, but our wars were fought against foreign hostile nations, so that we could remain English speaking, with Religious freedom, and rights that most countries can't even imagine. Speaking, reading and writing in English is and has been some of the basics that we are entitle to by the fact that our fore-Fathers died for."

Isn't this exactly what I've been saying. These large school districts should be run by business people not educators who have never been trained on how to manage an organization.

Cowboys Pull Out Win Over Bengals

These Cowboys are a great regular season team but they have given me no indication that they can go deep into the playoffs because they have no defense.

cbs11tv.com - Cowboys Pull Out Win Over Bengals: "After letting a 17-point lead shrivel to one, then breaking up a 2-point conversion that could've tied it, the Cowboys had plenty of reasons to be giddy about their lucky break in the final minutes that sealed a 31-22 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday."

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending - New York Times

This is the column from 1999 warining of the financial crisis. We read this on the air last week.

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending - New York Times: "In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.
