Shortly before 10 a.m., Chopper 11 showed about half of the city of Gainesville under water. Gainesville, just south of the Oklahoma border, has a population of about 16,000."
*** How many tax dollars and lives have been lost because people feel that they can drive cars into moving or standing water? It's time to send these people the bill for this pathetic behavior.

Black Leaders Protest At D.L. Hughley's FW Show
cbs11tv.com - Black Leaders Protest At D.L. Hughley's FW Show: "FORT WORTH Several people joined local Black ministers and community leaders to protest comedian D.L. Hughley's Juneteenth show at Bass Hall in Fort Worth Saturday.
The ministers said they had enough with the double standards. If Imus can't get away with it, black performers shouldn't get away with it either."
***The answer to the minister's question is that Imus should have been able to get away with it and so should D.L. Hughley. Words only mean something if we decide to give them power and these ministers are giving them absolute power. They should be teaching people to be in control of thier own emotions and that words cannot hurt unless you let them. At least that's what we used to teach people.

Listener email regarding illegal immigration
Hi Ernie and Jay,I LOVE your show. Every day when I get in my car to go to lunch, I turn you on to listen to the 12 o’clock Flip Off. It’s always entertaining, and I’ve called in with a flip off a couple of times too. Thanks for playing my gripes on air! I wish I could listen longer than just my lunch hour.
I’m writing you today because you two are my favorite talk show guys, and I have something I’d like to hear addressed – on the illegal alien subject. There is an aspect of this issue which I’ve noticed – something that has happened in my mind, but I’ve not heard anyone else mention and I’m wondering if others have had a similar experience. Perhaps it has been discussed, and I’ve missed it.
I’m sure you have heard the accusations that people who have problems with the illegal aliens are just motivated by racism, especially anti-Hispanic feelings - which is of course, ridiculous. But has anyone else noticed that sort of an opposite affect is actually true? I believe the illegal aliens (which happen to be overwhelmingly Hispanic) invading our country, demanding rights they are not entitled to, and being so militant about it has actually created anti-Hispanic feelings where none existed before. I know that I personally never experienced any negative feelings of this nature until all this controversy began. Now when I see a Hispanic person the question crosses my mind - Is he/she here legally? Is he/she attempting to learn English and become American? Or does he/she want to take over my country and turn it into Mexico while stealing everything good America has to offer? And now when I hear “for English, press 1” I want to scream. Once, I’ve dialed a phone number, I shouldn’t have to press anything to hear ENGLISH IN AMERICA!

The steady drumbeat of DNA exonerations — pointing out flaws in the justice system — has weighed against capital punishment. The moral opposition is loud, too, echoed in Europe and the rest of the industrialized world, where all but a few countries banned executions years ago. "
