Texas Cigarette Tax Helps Oklahoma Sales

cbs11tv.com - Texas Cigarette Tax Helps Oklahoma Sales: "A boost in the cigarette tax in Texas has led to increased sales at American Indian tobacco stores in southern Oklahoma.

Brian McClain, who oversees the Choctaw Nation's travel plazas, said Monday the tribe's five stores on the Texas border saw a huge increase in Texas customers after a $1 increase in the Texas cigarette tax went into effect Jan. 1. The tax had been 41 cents per pack."
