Rated "R" Movies

My wife and I went to see Rocky Balboa last night and I was surprised by a sign inside the theater which reads, "No children under the age of 6 will be allowed into R rated movies after 6:00PM." I thought the R rating was for 17 year olds. I wonder what changes at 6:00PM to make these movies turn evil. It must be the moonlight. - Jay
