Email regarding banning the N word

I teach college English, contemporary American lit, specifically. If the Brazoria mayor got his wish, what would happen to me after teaching _Huck Finn_ or other Mark Twain texts? Additionally, would I have to cut out 50% of the readings in my contemporary American lit anthology, because of "offensive" word use? I guess I'd be left with, ummm, not much.
